Waiting for a battle

The dummy was set ablaze, flames growing rapidly larger and larger until a powerful blast of water extinguished them. Two Pokemon stood on the field in battle positions, each facing the now charred battle dummy: a Salamence and a Swampert. Their trainer was just behind them, calling out commands. Her red hair drifted lightly in the wind.
"That was a good shot, Salamance. Swampert, you were a little bit too slow. If a fire like that had been in the forest, a wildfire would have swept through the entire island and killed everyone by the time you moved."
Sure, it was a bit harsh, but it was all in the name of training. She wasn't this strict outside of battle, she just knew she had to take command before the strong Pokemon grew out of control.

Kyoko wandered onto the training grounds, with a newly caught Gulpin. "So we need to train you up, Bottomless...oh!" She spotted Olivia. "She may be good for some training." She walked up to Olivia. "You look a little bored...how about a friendly battle? Blazer and Bottomless need some training."

The trainer turned to see another person. "A battle? Sure, that sounds like fun. My name's Olivia, by the way." Olivia turned to the two Pokemon standing in the field. She recalled them into their Pokeballs.
"So, how many Pokemon have you got?"

"Two, Blazer and Bottomless. Bottomless is a Pokemon I've captured recently, and it has a move that you won't see normally." Kyoko sent out Bottomless as her first Pokemon. "Guuuulpin..." "You can make the first move."

"Alright, then. Go, Raichu!" The orange Pokemon appeared after the beam of light. "Use iron tail on Gulpin!" Raichu raced forward, its tail beginning to glow. Jumping up, it hit the Gulpin with its tail with considerable force.

Kyoko smirked. She knew that the opponent wouldn't see this upcoming move. "Alright, Sing!" Bottomless sung a melodic tune, possibly putting Raichu to sleep.

Even though her Raichu was alseep, Olivia smiled. A challenge was alot of fun for her, even if it meant it'd take a while to overcome.

OOC: How long does this last?

OOC: I believe the rules said something like three turns.
IC: "Sludge Bomb!" Gulpin generated a ball of sludge in his mouth, and launched it at Raichu. It also used a stockpile, and another Sludge Bomb, finishing the last of the turns for Raichu to be asleep.

Figured I may as well speed up the battle a little.

"Welcome back, Raichu!" Olivia joked lightly when the Pokemon awoke. "Now, thunderbolt!" Raichu sent a bright bolt from the pouches on its cheeks.

"Bottomless, return." Kyoko sighed. "Well, looks like it's up to my partner." She sent out Blazer, a Cyndaquil. "Defense Curl!" Kyoko was planning something.

Olivia watched the second Pokemon closely. "I don't see where this is going... better safe than sorry, though. Raichu, return! Go, Salamence!" She called back Raichu, who seated itself on her shoulder, and sent out the Pokemon from before.

Good...this'll be much better now. Kyoko grinned as Blazer used Rollout, dealing double the normal damage from defense curl and another double from being super effective. In other words, the attack did quadruple the normal damage. "This...is what I was planning. And you further helped my plan. Thanks. I wasn't sure how powerful the attack would be, but all I know is it's only going to get stronger."

Salamence roared loudly as the Cynadaquil attacked, more out of anger than pain. "Alright, Salamence, our opponent is smart! Use fly!" The Salamence let out another deafening roar and blasted itself high into the sky, out of eyesight.

"Now that was just mean. C'mon, Blazer just wanted to play..." Kyoko joked, and knew this fight would be over. She couldn't stop Rollout as it hit nothing. The next step would be to cause as much damage as possible next turn. She couldn't win, but she'll do as much damage as possible. Rollout continues and hits nothing.

Olivia watched the sky in anticipation. She and Salamence had worked on this, over and over again before they came to the island. Then, without warning, the giant Pokemon swooped down and hit Blazer straight on with its wing.

"Wild Charge!!" Blazer had engulfed itself in electricity, despite being a fire Pokemon. It took 7 damage recoil. Kyoko had decided to go with the deal as much damage as possible plan.

"One last time, dragon claw!" After the final attack, Olivia walked forward and stood by her Pokemon. "That was great, really. You gave me a run for my money, actually!" Salamence roared, but it was much quieter than the first few times. It bent its head down, and Olivia put her forehead to her Pokemon's. "I haven't had a chance to connect like this in a while."

"That Salamence is very powerful, and seems to have a moveset to stop such combos as mine. If my Pokemon were a little bit stronger..." Kyoko smiled and pulled out a chocolate bar. "Well, thanks for the battle. Bottomless, we've got to train on some of these dummies. You too Blazer." She split the chocolate bar for her two Pokemon. "Don't you dare waste that food." After the Pokemon finished their share, Blazer started using Flame Wheel to tear through the dummies, while Bottomless just laid around, and sung. Kyoko continued to chow on the chocolate bar, and smiled, knowing that there was someone to catch up to.
