BFFs at the Beach Empty
PostSubject: BFFs at the Beach   BFFs at the Beach I_icon_minitimeSun Nov 25, 2012 10:21 pm

It was 3:59. Kyle was sitting on the beach, where he had been waiting for five minutes, in the sand. Ninetales was laying next to him, head between her paws, tails swooshing sand around behind them. He would have to give her a thorough grooming once they went back to the school. Braelynn was supposed to meet him here. Kyle still wore his white cotton shirt, but the sleeves were rolled up and the collar buttons were unbuttoned. He didn't have any shoes on, either, and his feet were bare in the sand. He felt terribly uncouth and relaxed at the same time. When Braelynn got here, things would get more interesting. He wanted to see her Pokemon . . . and perhaps a battle?

Also without shoes (after all, she didn't want to get her favorite pair dirty) Braelynn walked over as the clock clicked to 4:00. Right on time. Her hair was tied back and she was clad in denim shorts and a button up black blouse, along with her usual maroon jacket/windbreaker/thingy. Her backpack was thrown on her back, it's single strap going across her chest with 6 small Pokeballs stuck to the strap. "Hey!" She called as she walked up, waving her hand to catch his attention. "Ready?" She was here, as was he, and things were bound to get exciting. For once Tori wasn't in sight, and instead the Glaceon rested in her PokeBall. Bri had taken care of getting each Pokemon to look their best before coming (an especially hard task with a Gyarados) and was proud and ready to show off her team.

Kyle nodded at Braelynn, smiling. "I'll go first," He said, standing up. After brushing the sand off his pants, he took out his first Pokeball from his brown backpack, which Ninetales was leaning against. He clicked the button in the center, and the ball grew in size. He tossed it, and the first Pokemon to come out was a great, green tortoise Pokemon. Torterra and Ninetales stood together in the sand.

"You already know these two," said Kyle. "Next, the glorious Nidoqueen." Another ball tossed, another Pokemon out.

She was blue and intimidating, with horns and vaguely rabbit-like features. Nidoqueen let out a small "neee" before standing back with his other two Pokemon, looking content. She was the mother of his group: compassionate, yet fierce and ready for defense of the others.

After Nidoqueen came Milotic, a glorious looking male Pokemon, with rainbow scales and long flowing antennae. He was the pretty boy of the group, as his appearance would discern. The gentleman, the feminine one. But Milotic was also a great, showy battler as well as a fierce believer in some kind of Pokemon chivalry. . . he had a soft spot for female Pokemon of any kind, and generally didn't go as hard against them. Milotic went straight for the water, and swam there peacefully.

After Milotic was Blissey, the pink, frilly egg-shaped Pokemon. Like all Blissey, she was happy-go-lucky and sweet to everyone and everything. She wasn't a good battler, but she was great at healing the Pokemon who had battled. She was the friendly one, with her teeny egg and her serene smile. Blissey kicked a pebble when she came out of her Pokeball . . . and immediately after felt bad and picked the pebble up, rubbing it softly.

Last but not least was Mamoswine, the great, brown creature that he was. He was the most aggressive of all Kyle's Pokemon, and he stood intensely next to Kyle's other Pokemon.

"There you have it," Kyle said proudly, grinning. "Your turn."

Braelynn looked at each Pokemon in turn, impressed. He had a good team, after all. Her eyes lingered on Blissey in awe and innocent jealousy. If only she had a Blissey! They were one of the go to Pokemon for healing. They were usually there to help out the nurses whenever Lynn use to volunteer at the Pokemon Centers, and she got to see them in action multiple times. It was always amazing. Snapping out of her short daze, Braelynn grabbed the first PokeBall, pushed the white button, and in an icy blue light show followed by a cold breeze of air, Tori appeared. "You already know Tori, of course." She answered with a smile, looking down at her favorite companion. Lynn remember when Tori was just an Eevee, before being trained and raised into the elegant and smart Glaceon she was today. The Pokemon dipped her head, dark eyes cool and almost bored as usual.
Next was Pippi, the Clefairy. She spun around in a circle, chanting her name. The Pokemon was kind and gentle, even in battle. She wasn't afraid to fight, but she enjoyed just being around the other Pokemon in the team. Clefairy was looking over at Kyle's Pokemon with wide, curious eyes as Braelynn brought out the next one.
In a show of fire and sparkles, Flicka appeared, kicking her hind legs back and letting out a loud, wild call. She looked around with wide, excited eyes, ready to take on any challenge that came her way. Even though Lynn knew the Ponyta should have already evolved, she knew better than to not appreciate the Pokemon's childlike energy. The tomboyish mare was up for any battle, any time. She was one for straight on, strong attacks, and rarely backed down.
As the Ponyta began to pace in the sand, leaving steam when she stepped closer to the water, Flygon appeared in a rising tornado of sand. He gently landed on the ground and looked around with calm, shy and bright red eyes. He flapped his wings before laying them against his sides. Darrell was a much calmer spirit out of a fight. Sort of like a gentle giant. He was the newest member to Lynn's team, but she loved him dearly.
Finally it was Bubble's time to shine, and he let out a mighty roar as he appeared, before diving into the water. He was exactly how you'd expect a Gyarados to be- lean, mean, destructive machine. But Lynn could control him easily with any soft spoke instruction. He adored his trainer, as she did him. Before Bubble's could storm off, Lynn went closer to the water, telling him to stay close. The creature seemed to nod, sinking under the water, and she let out her last Pokemon. With an anti-climatic show of bright colors and fireworks spewing from the PokeBall, Kevin the Destroyer appeared on the ground. He weakly danced around on the ground, showing off his shiny golden scales. His eyes seemed bored and tired, like he'd rather be anywhere but here. Proudly, Lynn picked him up and gently set him down on shore for him to swim around. She totally adored that Pokemon.
Rubbing her hands together, she smiled shyly and looked over at Kyle. "That's it." She finally said, fighting off the strong urge to bow.

Her Pokemon -- excepting Kevin -- were awesome incarnate. The little goldfish was a bit distracting, but not as much as the great Gyarados swimming near his Milotic or the Flygon that had just landed. These were a Trainer's Pokemon. A winner's team. Something he could only wish to be one day. Which gave him an idea. Perhaps he could beat her? That would prove that he was a notch above her impressive team. Despite his conventional attitude, he wasn't about to miss an opportunity for a good battle. If he lost to a girl, well, he wouldn't be upset like other guys seemed to be.

Kevin, who's side was being hugged by a Blissey at the moment, looked to Braelynn. "Would you . . . " He started, trying to figure out how to ask without sounding too eager. "Like to battle? Four on four?"
