BEACH TIME

When Ritchie proposed to his team hanging at the beach at the end of class, it was supposed to be a lot of fun.

He floated on his back in the clear water, with Crobat and Beedrill flying over head chasing each other. It was hard to see who was the cat and who was the mouse at times, the way that they sparred each other every time one got close in their aerial game of tag.

Nidoqueen opted to stay as far away from the water as much as possible, instead lying peacefully in the white sand. Vileplume floated in the shallows like a lillypad and Tentacruel happily floated around ensnaring Magikarps and Basculins while Gengar stood on his head with a mischevious grin in a surfer's pose, wearing a pair of sunglasses he probably nicked from one of the other students.

Ritchie got up and swam back to shore. Drying his hair with the purple towel he had brought. "We should head back soon, guys!~"

Lark had come from an hour's worth of homework, memorizing base stats for her Pokemon and answering questions on weaknesses. She had finally finished, and decided to take a walk.
She discarded her school uniform for more casual clothing, and put a bathing suit under it just in case she wanted to test the water. It was the most beautiful water she'd ever seen.
A bit of the way into the walk, though, she spotted a figure in the water.
"Ritchie?" she said out loud, louder than she meant to.

Ritchie and his Pokemon immediately looked to the direction of the voice. "Lark?" Ritchie asked, recognizing the voice right away. He blinked awkwardly, throwing a shirt on.

Lark looked down. "Sorry. I was just passing by." she murmured, a faint blush crossing her face. She held a purse in front of her with both hands, containing her ID and the money her parents gave her.

Ritchie frowned a bit. "Oh, alright. We were just leaving." he couldn't quite keep the downcast tone out of his voice. Ritchie's Tentacruel made a noise that couldn't quite be heard above the surface but must have been one of disappointment, judging from the burbling sound and the prompt bubbles that floated up in front of its mouth.

Lark nodded. "Okay. See you, I guess." she whispered, still as a rock. She was not sure what to do. No one else was around, it seemed.

Ritchie recalled his Pokemon a bit reluctantly. The whole situation was a tad awkward, but he hadn't been lying when they said they were about to leave. He began to walk past her and away from the beach.

Lark waited until she was satisfied she left, and walked to the water. It looked quite nice. A dip wouldn't hurt. She began to undress, taking off her shirt and skirt to reveal a bathing suit, and her shoes. She carefully put a foot in, and found it to be warm. No sense in being cautious. she walked right in, until the water was up to her torso.

Ritchie kept walking. His hands found their way into his pockets and he found that his ID wasn't there. Ritchie paused and searched more before jogging back to his beach. He needed that card and began jogging back. Ritchie found himself back at the beach and started scanning for his card. He looked around for it and found it half buried in the sand... and two feet away were some discarded pieces of clothing.

Ritchie looked up to see Lark wading in the water. "Oh! Err, sorry!" he said looking back down again, his face beet red. Perhaps it would have been best if he didn't say anything at all. "I just forgot the... My... Uh..."

Robin let out a sigh as she walked down to the peaceful beach. She saw two people she's seen before on the ferry. She ran over, smiling a bit, her Glaceon struggling to keep up with her. "Hey, guys! Hey!" she called in greeting.

Lark, upon hearing the voice, screamed and sunk down, so that the water was at her neck. "W-what are you doing? Wanted to sneak a peek at me, huh? Pervert!" she hollered, not even noticing Robin.

Ritchie felt like he was in too much of a pickle to reply to Robin's greeting. "N-no! I had just forgotten my ID!" So much for making friends with Lark. He then scrunched his eyebrows and looked back up at her. "You said that you were just passing by anyways! How was I supposed to know you were here?!"

Lark searched for an answer, face bright red. "I-I wasn't expecting you to turn back. And why would I tell you I was going swimming, and even more so considering you are a pervert!" she repeated the word, wanting to get her clothes, but unable to rise out of the water. So much for training in the water. Of course, she was over-exaggerating due to her utter embarrassment.

"I'm not a pervert because I saw you in your bathing suit!" Ritchie snapped back. Surely she'd been to a public beach. But this was a school for the rich and talented, maybe she had a private beach or something. Either way, Ritchie had forgotten all embarrassment and was just irritated with the situation.

Maybe I should just leave now. This isn't going anywhere.

Lark said nothing. She really was making a big deal about it. Maybe people commonly went on the beach in revealing clothing. Taking a deep breath, she rose out of the water. "There. Sorry I yelled." she murmured, in a reluctant tone, not looking at the boy.

Ritchie was taken aback by the sudden change in mood, but just sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Sorry about that too." Ritchie began to shuffle away from the scene. He really needed to get back to his room and just forgot about all this.

And so the awkward topic just made everything more awkward and lul we need more people on this site god dammit I hate my life cry cry cry the end
