Enter! Rena!

A smaller boat made it's way to the dock. It was a small boat sent from Olivine City, and no one was on it except a cargo crew, who were shipping supplies to Elementum Island, and a girl named Rena.
She was a very pretty, yet silent girl, who was a higher up with the Olivine Gym. She decided that she wanted to become stronger, and therefore, had come to the island. Jasmine told her it would increase her social skills as well, though Rena didn't really care for those. She had Skarmory and her other Pokemon, so humans didn't seem necessary.
It docked, and she jumped out, waving to the crew members who were yelling goodbyes to her. Soon, the boat unloaded it's cargo and departed, and the girl found herself alone on the dock, except for a man on a bench a few yards away.

Ritchie sat on the bench, curiously looking at the boat and the girl. Being that Nikola had been everywhere lately, it was weird to see her not bouncing up and down touring the girl around the Island. He looked away though, in fear of being seen as some sort of creep.

The girl had already spotted him, but thought nothing of him. She looked at the tower, pretty amazed by it. Skarmory would like to see this.
She took a Pokeball that was attached to her suitcase, and released what was inside. A shiny Skarmory appeared. It stretched it's feathers, and looked towards it's trainer. "Skaaaaaaar!" it said in a rather mean sounding tone, but it was not trying to be. All Skarmory had a tone like that to everything they "said."
Rena smiled, petting it's beak. "I'm sorry for the ship. The mean people thought you were too sharp to have out of your Pokeball.
"Aaaaaaarrr." it answered, excepting the petting happily.

Ritchie probably wouldn't have thought anything of the Skarmory had it not been shiny.

He looked at the metal bird with awe. "Whoa..." he couldn't help but say. Ritchie knew that some other students had shinies, but he'd never seen one period, let alone so close.

The girl heard the comment, and instinctively turned to the boy, though caught herself and immediately turned back. Indeed, he was a student here. Indeed, he took a liking to her Skarmory. Skarmory flapped it's wings a little, getting any soreness they had out.

Ritchie turned his head away, embarrassed. For one thing, it was rude of him to just stare at her Pokemon. Another minor thing was that it was still a Skarmory and it would most definitely mess him up if its trainer so wished it.

"Don't worry, little Skarmory..." the girl said in a hushed, but audible voice. "The mean man isn't looking at you anymore."
The Skarmory let out a caw, if "caw" meant the sound of a deadly mecha pterodactyl when it is chasing down it's prey.

Ritchie barely heard the remark and could have been easily mistaken but didn't really care. He turned back to Rena and opened his mouth to say something but closed it again and stood up as he began to walk away, mumbling to himself about how rude the girl was.

Alright, maybe he shouldn't have sat with his mouth agape like a retard without introducing himself or something. But that didn't give whoever the hell this person was a reason to say that.

Rena watched him leave, blinking and confused. "I wonder what is wrong with him." she said in a hushed voice, still cradling her Pokemon's neck. Standing up once more and brushing hair back from her face, she started walking the way he was walking, though not purposely. The Tower was that way.
